What is Radio Frequency Microneedling?

Microneedling may sound scary but it’s really your body’s way of activating its inner super healing power. Sound a little on the New Age Side? Not really. Think about this…. our skin is our largest organ and it is in the process of constant regeneration. As you age, the rate you produce new skin cells slows down. Topical products like the SkinCeutical retinol and Micro-exfoliating scrub can help to promote cell turnover and are extremely effective. However, gravity and genetics will eventually creep up and you may find yourself looking for something more.

Meet your new best friend, Scarlet RF Microneedling!

Before 2020, Laser Resurfacing and Surgery where the “Go To” procedures for skin tightening. This may seem hard to believe but it is not uncommon to have both done at the same time! When Microneedling came along, it was fabulous because it could be used in a med spa with little risk and was effective on all skin types. Over time, inventors would add heat in the form of radio frequency (RF) and the results would be remarkable. In fact, this technology has now emerged as the “Go To” for skin tightening and skin maintenance because you can breeze in, have the procedure and then return to your life.

What are the benefits of Scarlet Radio Frequency Microneedling?

By making ultra tiny micro stamps across the skin, we damage the skin just enough to trigger the body into making collagen, the yummy fibers that give our face structure and radiance. The Scarlet micro-needles have a patented delivery system that allows our providers to tailor a treatment plan around your skin. Depositing extra droplets in specific areas can help with acne scars, jowl tightening, skin radiance and laxity.

Is there downtime from this procedure?

Everyone is red after their treatment. The redness is very temporary. Many people return to their natural skin color in 4 hours-2 days. In rare cases, people can have pin point bleeding. Many people return to work the next day without anyone noticing that they had a procedure. We recommend a Diamond Glow facial 2-3 weeks post treatment.

How many treatments will I need?

Question of the year! We recommend one treatment for every decade. So if you are 30-40, we suggest a minimum of 3-4. Allowing your body to heal is important so treatments are scheduled every 4-6 weeks. Results will continue to be seen 2-3 months AFTER your last treatment.

Needles in my face! Does that hurt?

I know – it seems wrong but the technology produces incredible results. We do our best to make your experience relaxing and enjoyable. Flawless Med Spa offers both Nitrous-Oxide and facial numbing cream. Our numbing cream is specifically compounded by a local pharmacist to ensure efficacy and safety. The procedure is tolerable and our nurses and laser specialists have performed over 500 procedures.

Can the Scarlet RF Microneedling be used on the stomach or arms for tightening?

Yes. We have treated stomachs, arms, knees, necks, faces and decollates.

How long is an RF microneedling procedure?

This varies on the area of the body we are treating. Most treatments last between 1-2 hours.

How do I maintain my RF Microneedling Results?

Sadly, our bodies are always aging; we cannot stop time. However, we can use technologies like the Scarlet, PicoSure and Cosmetic Injections to help restore and revitalize the skin. Many of our clients will maintain their results with 1-2 treatments a year. Others will switch it up with a Pico Sure Laser Facial or chemical peel.

Am I a candidate for Scarlet RF Microneedling?

If your skin is beginning to lose its structure, or if you have scars, you might be a candidate. We have treated patients as young as 21 for scars and as mature as 78 for skin laxity. Call us to schedule a complimentary consultation.

Stay Flawless! Heather Badal
