Ugh; I’ve got a bug! I fell victim to the latest nasty virus making it’s way around town – the so-called “stomach bug” Norovirus. Apparently, it’s easy to catch and hard to shake- just my luck! Symptoms include nausea, headache, body aches and last but not least, the desire to evacuate your body by any means possible; if you catch my drift. Several clients have mentioned the same symptoms in either themselves or their children; I decided to do a little research about how to avoid it in the first place (which I wish I’d done a little sooner)!
You are most contagious when you are sick with norovirus illness, and during the first 3 days after you recover. You can become infected by eating food or drinking liquids that are contaminated with norovirus, touching surfaces or objects contaminated with norovirus then putting your fingers in your mouth, or having contact with someone who is infected (for example, caring for or sharing food or eating utensils with someone with norovirus illness). To help prevent contracting the virus, Practice proper hand hygiene by washing your hands carefully with soap and water— especially after using the toilet and changing diapers, and always before eating, preparing, or handling food.
So in conclusion, all of the stuff that your mom taught you about being sanitary should do the trick! If you’ve managed to avoid it, Kudos to you; If you’ve got it, my sympathies! I hope you’re back to feeling Flawless ASAP!
