What Is A VI Peel?

Do you have dull, dry, or hyperpigmented skin? Chemical peels have evolved and one of our favorites is the VI Peel. VI Peels are a proprietary blend of acids, retinol, vitamins, and minerals that go beyond a general surfacing peel and are specifically formulated to treat specific conditions, including acne and acne scarring, hyperpigmentation, and fine lines and wrinkles.

This is a medium-depth, medical-grade chemical peel and the results can be amazing, especially when combined with other technologies. A series of VI Peels can help improve tone, texture, and clarity with minimal downtime.

How Does A VI Peel Improve My Skin?

VI Peels promote cellular turnover and refine the surface layer of the skin for a smoother, firmer, and more youthful appearance. The VI Peel is safe for every skin type and is a great addition to your normal skincare routine. VI Peels work by creating micro-damage to the skin’s top layer, causing it to peel off and in turn, stimulate new tissue growth. What Happens During The Treatment?

A VI Peel is a two-part process. The first step occurs in our state-of-the-art medical spa. We will clean and prep your skin, and then apply the VI Peel in two layers. You may feel some mild itchiness or tightness, but this is normal and will ease when the peel is washed off. The second step occurs at home.

We will provide you with an after-care kit and a comprehensive guide to help with each detail. After about four hours, you will apply towelettes with a post-peel solution and a post-peel protectant. This is important because it reactivates the skin to promote the cell turnover and expedite the peel. You will continue to apply this protectant 2-3 times daily for a week. Expect to see skin start peeling after about three days.

Recovery After A VI Peel

There is no downtime associated with a VI Peel, although your skin will peel after a few days. We recommend avoiding any conditions that raise your body temperature (sauna, hot tub, etc) for the first 24 hours.

You will need to stay out of the sun and wear a hat and sunscreen when leaving the house until peeling subsides. It is important to not pick or pull at the peeling skin, as this can impact results, cause infection and hyperpigmentation.
