Does Kybella Hurt?

The injection itself may sting slightly. The area will be red and numbness may occur; this is normal. Over the next 3-7 days, your chin will swell. This is a good indicator of a successful treatment, as your body is starting to metabolize the dead fat cells. We advise patients of this prior to their treatment.

Is There Downtime?

You do not need to stay inside, but know that you will be swollen and may not want to plan any major social events 4-5 days post-treatment. However, it is fine to resume light activity immediately after your appointment.

What Is Aftercare Like?

Patients should steer clear of hot temperatures and vigorous exercise for at least a day after a Kybella session. It is also a good idea to avoid foods high in sugar and sodium as well as alcohol and caffeine for a day or two, as this will help keep swelling minimal.

How Intensive Is Kybella?
