Does Tattoo Removal Hurt?

Tattoo removal has a similar level of discomfort as getting a tattoo for most patients. Though the process can be uncomfortable, it is not acutely painful like tattoo laser removal of the past. Our dedicated aesthetic nurses will work with you to ensure maximum comfort. Topical numbing agents may be used as appropriate.

When Do I See Results?

This depends on the size, colors, and placement of the tattoo as well as your overall skin health. Everybody responds differently to treatment, so there is no one-size-fits-all timeline. You will need various sessions, and they need to be spread out around 4-8 weeks apart to allow for healing between sessions. Our nurses will formulate a realistic timeline that is appropriate for you.

What Is Aftercare Like?

You will have slight swelling and redness after each session, but this is normal and will subside in a few days. A cold compress can be used to ease discomfort. It is important to keep the area clean and moist during healing; your nurse will give you detailed instructions on how to treat the area as you recover. Avoid tight clothing over the treated skin for a day or two.
